For the first half of my apprenticeship, I worked on the print magazine, where my responsibilities included:

Attend pitch meetings for Playbook, Family Health and Cover Ideas

Be one of two individuals in charge of @parentseditors Instagram account

Be the liaison between brands and families for accolade stories

Assist digital with writing listicles, round-ups and Teen Talk stories

Interview sources and Parents advisors for articles relating to book recommendations, family health, crafts, and others.

The Cedar Rapids Gazette
As a reporting intern for The Cedar Rapids Gazette, I was able to report and write for a variety of beats, including sports, lifestyle, business, public safety and news.
Each intern also helped with The Gazette's sister newspaper-The Southeast Iowa Union, in Washington County.

Iowa State Dance Marathon
I have been involved with Iowa State Dance Marathon since my freshman year. I wanted to be involved in a student organization that meant something to me and wasn't directly related to my major.
Since then, I have been a Miracle Maker, Morale Captain overseeing a team of Miracle Makers, Assistant Branding Director and currently serve as Co-Branding Director with an emphasis in PR.
My main responsibilities include curating and posting to various social media platforms, ensuring video and photos are taken at each event and updating the website as needed.

TREND magazine is a student-run beauty, lifestyle and fashion publication on Iowa State's campus. I've served as an editorial writer, fashion editor and online monthly copy editor positions.
My work can be found in publications from February 2019-April 2021.

I've worked as an editor and reporter since September 2018, staying within the Student Life and Lifestyle desks.
